History of the Lovin’ Kind The Lovin’ Kind is an old Milwaukee group that has resurfaced as a classic rock band. We cover a wide spectrum of musical styles including Beatles, Rolling Stones, Doors, Eagles, CCR, Van Morrison, Allman Brothers, and Santana to name just a few. The band originated in Milwaukee in the 60’s and was well known throughout the city, playing Beatles, Rolling Stones, and many other popular songs of the era. The original Lovin’ Kind broke up as the musicians went off to school and the military. Years later, after becoming career and family oriented, a few of the original members, along with a few close musical friends, decided to get together and see what the music had to offer. They instantly felt the energetic and fun connection with being a band and making music once again. The band quickly grew from the core members of Bruce Nemovitz and Jim Guten, both playing lead and rhythm guitars and vocals, and Steve Weiner playing bass and vocals. Over time Char Goodavish-Guten (percussion and vocals) and our dynamic rhythm duo, Wayne Zingler on drums and Kevin Williams on congas/bongos and djembe, came on board. Our newest addition to the group, Howie Gollup, adds fantastic keys to the mix. Today, we are devoted to spreading the joy and optimistic spirit we experience by playing classic rock tunes along with writing and recording a few of our own songs. We have graced the floors of Milwaukee and surrounding venues such as G-Daddy’s BBC, Calhoun Station, Remington’s River Inn, and the Pulaski Inn of Cudahy. Summer gigs over the last two years include Oshvegasfest, Remington’s End of Summer Bash, Grafton GALA in the Park and the Charcoal Grill Big Backyard at the Wisconsin State Fair. We are a high-energy boogie so wear your dancing shoes! www.lovinkind.com
